Ridgewood: Nowadays, H0L0 and Mansions

Nowadays, at 56-06 Cooper Ave, has an indoor room and a garden. Since January 2024 it has run Nonstop every week, a party that starts on Saturday at 10pm and ends on Sunday at 10pm, and in season the garden hosts Mister Sunday. Phones stay off the dance floor.

H0L0 (1090 Wyckoff Ave) is a DIY techno, house and experimental club running since 2017, with no VIP area and long Honcho takeovers from 3pm to 7am. Mansions (46-63 Metropolitan Ave) is a natural wine bar with a foggy dance room and a patio; it closed early in 2026 for new carpet and reopened in April.

Maspeth: BASEMENT and Knockdown Center

Knockdown Center occupies a 1903 glass factory at 52-19 Flushing Ave, with four spaces for house, techno, pop, art and performance, plus The Ruins outdoors in summer. Under it, with its own entrance, is BASEMENT: techno in brick tunnels since 2019, and STUDIO, its house room, since 2022. BASEMENT runs Friday and Saturday into the morning, and phones, photos and video are not allowed.

Jackson Heights: the Roosevelt Avenue queer bars

Jackson Heights has a cluster of Latin queer bars: Hombres Lounge (85-28 37th Ave) with DJs and go-go dancers, and Viva La Heights and Friend's Tavern side by side on Roosevelt Avenue, the latter open since 1989. Their schedules change, so message us to check current nights.

Jamaica: Amazura

Amazura, at 91-12 144th Pl, is an event hall rather than a weekly club: promoters book it for Caribbean, Latin and R&B nights on select dates.

For reggaeton, bachata and Latin hip-hop, Code Astoria is the regular weekend option; Amazura hosts Latin nights on some dates, and Hombres Lounge is the Latin queer bar. La Boom, the Woodside club many people still search for, is closed (see below).
