A new queer bar on Roosevelt Avenue
Viva La Heights is one of the LGBTQ+ bars on Roosevelt Ave in Jackson Heights, Queens, right next door to Friend's Tavern. In its June 2025 guide to queer bars in western Queens, the local paper QNS called it the latest LGBTQ+ bar to debut in Jackson Heights and described it as a welcoming space for the queer community to dance the night away. Together with Friend's Tavern and nearby Hombres Lounge, it makes this stretch of Queens an easy place to bar-hop on a weekend.
