Thanksgiving Eve: Wednesday, Nov 25, 2026
Thanksgiving 2026 falls on Thursday, Nov 26, so the night before is Wednesday, Nov 25. Thanksgiving Eve is known as one of the busiest bar nights of the year in the US, as people head home for the holiday and meet old friends. Some clubs that normally rest midweek open for it: Loosie's on the Bowery has a Thanksgiving Eve night listed.
New Year's Eve: Thursday, Dec 31, 2026
Almost every club runs a ticketed party on New Year's Eve; Musica in Hell's Kitchen already lists its New Year's Eve 2026 night. One thing doesn't change: New York's Alcoholic Beverage Control Law has no New Year's Eve extension, so alcohol sales stop at 4am as on any other night.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, Jan 18, 2027, which turns the weekend into a long one. Superior Ingredients in Williamsburg already lists a rooftop headline party for Sunday, Jan 17.
The open-air season: May to October
New York dances outdoors from spring to fall. In 2026, Marquee Skydeck at Edge opened on May 1, Mister Sunday returned to Nowadays' garden in mid-May, the Elsewhere rooftop ran from June to early October, Pacha New York held its first open-air season from June, and Under the K Bridge Park hosted its third season of outdoor electronic concerts. 2027 dates have not been announced; we'll add them as they come out.

Hamptons and Montauk nightlifeNYC Pride: the last Sunday of June
The NYC Pride March took place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, starting at noon at 26th Street and Fifth Avenue. The 2027 date has not been announced. If the usual pattern of the last Sunday in June holds, it would be June 27, 2027, but wait for NYC Pride to confirm before you book. The queer clubs are open all year.

Independence Day 2027 is a Sunday, and the federal holiday is observed on Monday, Jul 5, so it's a three-day weekend. In 2026 the holiday brought rooftop parties in the city and headline DJs in Montauk and Atlantic City.
Labor Day weekend: Sep 4–6, 2027
Labor Day, Monday Sep 6, 2027, closes the summer. Most Hamptons clubs shut after this weekend. In Brooklyn, it's the weekend of the West Indian American Day Carnival on Eastern Parkway, with J'ouvert in the early hours before the parade, and it's a big weekend for Caribbean parties.

Halloween: Sunday, Oct 31, 2027
The Village Halloween Parade runs up Sixth Avenue every Oct 31; in 2026 it started at 7pm on a Saturday. In 2027 Halloween falls on a Sunday, so expect clubs to spread their costume parties over the whole weekend, as many did in 2026.
NYC Marathon: the first Sunday of November
The New York City Marathon runs on the first Sunday of November (Nov 1 in 2026). It brings a busy weekend of visitors and, in 2026, coincided with the end of the Mister Sunday season.
