Manhattan

Harbor, at 621 W 46th St between 11th and 12th Aves, is a club with a retractable glass roof and a second room upstairs, The Stafford Room. It plays hip-hop, R&B and top 40, with some nights given over to EDM, and Okayplayer singles out its Good Life Saturdays. Sources disagree on which other nights it opens, so check with us.

Out of Ordinary opened on Halloween 2025 at 48 W 21st St, in the old Taj Lounge space, with 2000s hip-hop and pop, and it ran Latin & Reggaeton Fridays this fall. TAO Downtown's nightclub, a drinks-only lounge apart from the restaurant at 369 W 16th St, plays hip-hop, R&B and top 40, with a hip-hop Thursday on its November 2026 calendar. Loosie's, under the Moxy Lower East Side at 145 Bowery, mixes hip-hop, R&B and open format from Thursday to Sunday.

Nebula, at 135 W 41st St, is not a hip-hop club as such: its music changes by night, from house and EDM to current rap. Its Tuesday BABY Tuesday is one of the city's longest-running weekly parties. SOB's, at 204 Varick St, has been open for about 40 years and runs hip-hop and R&B alongside Latin, Caribbean, African and Desi club nights. Amber Room, on W 21st St, is listed as an R&B and Latin lounge-club from Thursday to Saturday. Musica, the Hell's Kitchen superclub, puts R&B, hip-hop and Latin on its lower floor.

Brooklyn: Lot 45

Lot 45, at 411 Troutman St in Bushwick, is the clearest hip-hop option in Brooklyn: weekend parties mixing hip-hop, R&B, reggaeton, bachata, Afrobeats, soca and amapiano, with an RSVP that is valid before a set time and bottle requests through its link page. Cafe Erzulie, on Broadway in Bushwick, adds hip-hop to its Caribbean nights late on Thursday to Saturday.

Queens: Code Astoria

Code Astoria, at 20-30 Steinway St, plays Latin, hip-hop and top 40 from Friday to Sunday and on some Thursdays, and takes guest-list sign-ups and table requests on its own website.

R&B nights

For R&B specifically, look at Amber Room in Flatiron, the lower floor at Musica, Harbor and TAO Downtown. In Harlem, Lambda Lounge's FNF Fridays are a queer alternative.

How to get in

Most Manhattan hip-hop clubs are table clubs with a door policy: no athletic wear, shorts or caps is the common rule. A table is the surest way in on Friday and Saturday; message us on WhatsApp with the club, date and group size.
