How to Get to D'Jais
D'Jais is at 1801 Ocean Ave in Belmar, NJ 07719, on the west side of Ocean Ave, with its front entrance facing the beach and boardwalk. Belmar is in Monmouth County on the Jersey Shore, with a station on NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line, which links the Shore with New York Penn Station.
Dress Code & Entry Requirements
D'Jais doesn't publish a dress code on its website. It's a beach-town dance club, so summer night-out clothes are the norm. Bring ID, and message us on WhatsApp if you want to check before a theme night.
The Jersey Shore's long-running dance club
D'Jais has been on Ocean Ave in Belmar since 1959, and its website calls it "the original Jersey Shore dance club". According to its history, it started as a live-music bar and was converted into a dance club around 1979; a restaurant came around 1990. In the 1970s Bruce Springsteen was a regular, and it is still the best-known of the bars facing the Belmar boardwalk. Inside there are four full-size bars, plus a fifth on the outdoor deck, which is covered and looks out over the ocean. Fun New Jersey once named it the best overall party spot in its list of the 100 best bars at the Shore. It is also the lead sponsor of the annual New Jersey Sand Castle contest. Put together, it's a beach-town institution rather than a big-city club.
Summer nights: DJs, theme nights and the Summer '26 mixes
D'Jais is at its busiest in summer. Most summer nights there is a DJ and dance music, with regular theme nights and contests, and its website sells season passes for the summer months. In 2026 the club posted a "D'Jais Belmar Summer '26" series of DJ mixes, with episodes from early July through early September, including Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend editions. That gives you the calendar: the club is at full strength between the Fourth of July and Labor Day. Outside summer, D'Jais doesn't publish a regular schedule; its website does list a Halloween Costume Ball on 11/07, without the year. If you are coming down the Shore outside July and August, check with us before you make the trip.
Getting there and planning a night in Belmar
D'Jais is at 1801 Ocean Ave in Belmar, NJ 07719, on the west side of the street, with the front entrance facing the beach and boardwalk. Belmar is in Monmouth County and has a station on NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line, which links the Shore with New York Penn Station. Check the last train before you go out, because a Shore night tends to run late. If you are going as a group, for a birthday or a summer weekend, send us on WhatsApp the date and how many you are, and we'll tell you what's on that night. For the rest of the Shore, our Jersey Shore nightlife guide covers Asbury Park, Belmar and what closed in Seaside Heights.
